The Rossini Side Chair is a classic indoor bistro chair. The original Rossini chair with arms has been part of the Sika Design line for over 50 years and is now available as a side chair. For decades, the original Rossini chair has been a coveted choice for use in private homes, among restaurants, and at French bistros and cafes all over the world. It is handcrafted from natural rattan and is built to last as long as its timeless design.
The chair's seat and backrest are handmade in Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers, and it can be clearly seen and felt that comfort and good craftsmanship have been safeguarded. Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material, and it also helps to make the furniture sustainable. Here you get a unique piece of furniture that can last for generations.
This furniture is handcrafted in rattan, which is one of the most sustainable materials available for furniture manufacturing. Rattan is often confused with bamboo, but unlike hollow bamboo, rattan is a solid material. This makes rattan furniture very durable, and able to last for generations.
When steamed for 10-15 minutes, rattan can be formed by hand using old traditional manufacturing techniques and a few simple tools. Rattan comes in 600 different variants and Sika-Design only uses the two best qualities called Tohiti and Manau.
MAINTENANCE Rattan requires no maintenance but can be wiped with a lightly dampened cloth if needed.
